It’s almost Apple Orchard TIME! I’m so excited. I love everything about the Fall season and going to the apple orchard is definitely the highlight. You get a blast of the essence of Autumn to every one of the senses. Everything smells crisp with the chilled breeze, smokey from campfires and sweet from the apples. The sun shines through the gorgeous changing leaves, kissing almost-rosy cheeks.
And, hello! I’m sure you’ve tasted the goodies an apple orchard has to offer. I have a tasty treat using apples of my own that I will share in just a moment. But, for now – let’s start at the core – let’s keep it simple. Let’s do up some Awesomesauce (with apples).
The best Applesauce I’ve ever had was made by my eldest daughter. Luckily, she likes it like I do – a tidge sweet, tart and smooth. My youngest has a bit of a sweet tooth, but in general – if you give them a lemon, they won’t bother making lemonade. This Applesauce Recipe is just right, though. Not much sugar, no extra frills (we are not cinnamon applesauce fans in this house – not knocking the flavor pairing, just not in our sauce, man) and definitely no chunks! We kept the apple peel on, not only is it healthier that way, but it’s also prettier – she was so happy to see it was pink!

Now, once you’ve spooned out a few more scoops full than expected, save some and do yourself a favor – make this amazing Peanut Butter Caramel Apple Muffin Recipe. To die for. Or, just use your awesome apple sauce instead of oil or butter in your next cake or cookie, it even works with box mixes.
